Holland America Cruises

My husband and I have just returned from a fantastic Mediterranean cruise aboard MS Oosterdam This being our eighth cruise since 2004 we were looking for something different in the itinerary – this cruise fitted the bill perfect Only one sea day in 12 nights away – great as my husband hates the days at sea Ports of call fantastic although the Shore excursions were expensive

The package included flights from Heathrow to Barcelona and the return from Venice Previously our P & O Cruises have been less stressful in that once our luggage has been checked in at the airport, the next time we have seen it has been when it appeared in our suite on board ship With Holland America we had to retrieve the luggage at Barcelona airport transport it by trolley to meet the Rep in arrivals who then arranged for the luggage to be put on a coach Once the coach reached the Terminal we had to collect and cart our luggage, once again, to the ship Check-in

Once on the ship though it was a truly wonderful experience We had a Balconied Stateroom which was adequate in size and serviced by two wonderfully attentive polite stewards The was an extremely varied entertainments programme – something for everyone As the postcards always say: Hotel, food, entertainment and weather fantastic!!
