Princess Cruises, Diamond Princess, Alaska
Early in 2008 my wife and I decided to book a cruise to Canada and Alaska,as I always love the sunny weather and good beaches,I was a little reluctant to try Alaska, and Snow, after a long decussion we then decided to book a cruise, We decided to on Princess Cruises, the ship of our choice was the Diamond Princess,we then decided to also do the land cruise, To make things better for us,our Daughters said we should do a Helicopter flight in Alaska.and they will pay for it,we happily agreed. To decribed this cruise etc, this was among the best Cruises we have ever done,The hotels we stayed while in Canada were all 5 Star, The Fairmont Hotels were in Calgary,Banff.Jasper Park, and the Hotel at Lake Louise was just a dream,example--looking out of our room window early in the morning we saw the most beautiful scene, the Sun was just coming over the moutain tops, and the lake had turned to gold,Iwould say this is one of the most beautiful places in the world.--We joined the train--Rocky Mountaineer at Jasper for two days,we had a overnight stop at Kamlops, then arriving in Vancouver, for someone like me who was not keen to go on this holiday,I am so glad i did,the Train journey is super,my advice to cruisers, try this land cruise,--We then travelled to Seattle to join the Golden Princess, we sailed to Juneau, Skagway--Tracy Arm--,Ketchikan,-Vancouver,and a tour of Victoria--it was in Juneau that we went on the Helicopter flight This was a wonderful experience, and to add to all this during the flight we had to make a emergency landing, the pilot explained that a RED LIGHT had come on and we had to land, after we landed,we all got out and the pilot sent a Radio message to send another Helicopter to take us on to the ,GLACIER,next it was a dog sledge run for about two miles, we will never forget these moments, and we have the photos to show, there is so much to see in Alaska,I would recommed this type of holiday to everybody, as usual the holiday was well organized by Princess Cruises
