Cruise Lines

Princess Cruises, Crown Princess, Caribbean

We booked our cruise of a lifetime, celebrating 30 years marriage, on Crown Princess sailing 3rd Nov from San Juan. Our flights were changed after initial booking to less convenient times and non-direct flights from Heathrow, New York and onto San Jun.(Very tiring and stressful)We would ask Princess to sort these out before printing brochures so customers know exactly what they are letting them in for! The ship and staff were 100% especially the stewards on reception. They were truly magnificent. What patience! And nothing was too much trouble. We witnessed some passengers being unnecessarily rude and difficult on more than one occasion but those young pursers were 100% professional. Our only complaint re; the cruise was the food.Three major restaurants all with the same repetitive menu ! The buffet restaurant was very good. The Crown Restaurant was also good but leave the Italian Restaurant alone unless you like all your food, all courses, to taste of vinegar. Yes even the pudding was sour! Not to our taste at all. We suspect the cruise catering manager wanted little or no waste in the main restaurants hence the boring repetitive menu changing only a few of the main courses daily : Starters and sweet courses were always the same. Where were the theme nights and speciality nights? We had hoped to be thrilled with the food on a two week cruise in the Caribbean on the Crown Princess but were very disappointed. However, we still enjoyed the luxury of the holiday. The entertainment was very americanised humour but that didn't matter! If you go you will enjoy!
