Cunard Cruises, Queen Victoria, Northern Europe
We were fortunate to have two staterooms on the Maiden Voyage of the Queen Victoria and were absolutely delighted with the Voyage to the Christmas Markets. The ship is quietly elegant with luxurious fabrics, linens and carpets and some magnificent wrought iron balustrading in the bars and staircases. having lived in London for some years we can say that the theatre is equal to any in the West End and the shows performed there, especially "Victoriana", were excellent. We especially liked the wrap around balcony of our stateroom which gave fabulous views. the rooms themselves were comfortable, well planned and we didn't miss a chest of drawers. The food was as always superb and we enjoyed excellent service from our waiter Constantin. We enjoyed all the places we docked - Cunard provided an excellent complimentary shuttle bus service in most places and, combining this with trains, we were able to spend lots of time in Delft and Brugges as well as enjoying the overnight stay in Copenhagen, day in Oslo and Hamburg. Queen Victoria is a worthy successor to the Queen Elizabeth 2 and we cannot wait to go back onto her. Well Done Cunard.
