Celebrity Cruises, Century, Mediterranean
My husband and I decided to have a last minute holiday in November and booked the Western Mediterranan cruise on the Celebrity Century. We have sailed with Celebrity before, and this was our second time on Century, everything was a good as usual. Our cabin steward was very good, always around when you needed him and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the main dining room was very good and our waiters were exceptional, they really made the evening enjoyable. We did a tour in Rome, the guide was very good and spoke perfect english, unfortunately it rained most of the day but we had a wonderful time. Our tour guide in Florence was also very good and she had a wicked sense of humour and although it was very cold and windy we had another amazing day in Italy. In contrast we had a very warm day in Gibralter (we had worried what the weather would be like in November in the Med). We took a taxi tour up to see the caves and the apes (one took a liking to me and decided to sit on my shoulders!). In Malaga we got on a red bus City Tour, they take you around the sites and you can get off when you want and get the next bus to continue your tour, well worth it to get a feel of the city. The evening entertainment on the ship is usually very good, but the shows were exactly the same ones we had seen the year before (with the same singers and dancers)and they were looking a little worn now. (If we had to grumble about anything on this cruise this would be it). The whole cruise was fabulous. In the last few years we have always picked Celebrity to sail with as we find their standards are consistently good.
