Princess Cruises, Royal Princess, South America
The 'new' Royal Princess is an ideal size, about 700, to avoid queues everywhere. The amenities and food we're good but the show lounge was small (low) with limited vision. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good sized state room and balcony, well fitted. Devil's Island, and the Amazon stops very interesting together with the Caribbean Islands but there was no real "wow" factor. We did an excurion at every stop and enjoyed the experiences - a bit pricey. Charter flight from Manaus to Miami was truly aweful in an ancient DC10. Manaus airport departure lounge not large enough to cope - arrived Miami at 0230 and at hotel at 0415 - was this the cheapest slot. The only cause for a real moan but it did give a full morning in Manaus. Would recommend this itinery but further down your wish list - there are more interesting and worthwhile destinations.
