Celebrity Cruises, Summit, Transatlantic
We booked a Caribbean 7 day cruise, back to back with a Transatlantic crossing, all on Summit Celebrity Cruises. The embarkation in San Juan was first class with no queues and very organised ship staff to escort you to your cabin. The actual ship was very clean, staff were very attentive and even though it was Spring Break with over 400 children aboard, we were hardly aware of them, so well entertained were they by the staff. The meals and standard of food provision was excellent, over 21 nights we were only served one meal that was returned due to it not being hot enough. The disembarkation information for a back to back cruise was not clear as a whole group of us got off the ship to clear immigration, to find that we could not return back on board until all passengers had left, this was not made clear to us. The Transatlantic cruise was a dream, although pitching and rolling, the ship was very stable and to have 5 days of relaxation was wonderful. There were plenty of activities on board - we also wondered where the time had gone. We were encouraged to purchase tickets for a shuttle bus at $8 a go for buses in La Rochelle, Cherbourg, Vig and Gijon, however we found that the Town was within walking distance at both Vigo and Cherbourg. Overall an excellent experience - definitely worth repeating, and especially with Celebrity.
