Cruise Lines

P&O Cruises, Ventura, Mini Cruises

Having taken a mini cruise on the new NCL ship we thought it would be wonderfull to do the same on the Ventura. But what a let down. Our cabin a mini suit was lovely - 2 televisions great but no instructions and all the films were an extra charge the the other channels didn't work most of the time - coffee making - again great idea but they forgot to add a socket for the 2 pin plug the only one it would fit was by the bed. The lay out I found old fashion you cannot go straight from one end the the other it is up one set of steps - across - then down - the ships plans didn't help it would have been a lot easier if the "you are here" dot was a different colour to the tape showing what deck you are on white on white not very bright. I was hoping for a "WoW" factor - it was no better or worse than any of their other ships. The food was wonderfull as always on P & O - staff friendly but some lacked training. The information sheet also failed to give basic information - instructions with regard to disinbarkation was not delivered the the cabin until after 2100hrs anyone new to cruising would not have had any idea of proceedures. We are off on the QE2 Sunday - now that is a wonderful ship that you can easily get lost on with lifts that only go half way down/up but she is over 40 years old and can be forgiven. Happy cruising Del
