Cruise Lines

NCL Cruises, Norwegian Jewel, Baltic

Just arrived back from a Baltic cruise with NCL. As with most cruises it had it good points and bad. I travelled alone as I always seem to do on these 'cold cruises' and have to admit freestyle was the wrong choice. I'm fairly extrovert and find meeting people easy but without the help of seeing the same people at dinner every night as with most cruises I actually found it quite difficult to gel with anyone. Also there was only six people travelling alone/or as singles. I therefore tried the speciality restaurants of which there were six and these were very good especially the teppanyaki, and the Bistro. These were great places to meet people and the food was fabulous. The ship was OK but I did have a problem with some of the senior staff. They were both arrogant and rude. A number of times I politely said good morning/afternoon as we passed in corridors to either be met with silence or a grunt as if I was nothing to them. They were also rude to their own staff who I am glad to say were magnificent. Also every port on this cruise was fantastic, I hadn't realised that the communist regimes had tried to keep the original looks to these places and you felt you were in medievil times. As I stated at the begining good and bad points but on the whole I enjoyed myself and had a great time
