NCL Cruises, Norwegian Jade, Mediterranean

Freestyle cruise, meaning serve yourself, food not as good as other cruise ships, and finding a table or place to sit sometimes difficult, the other 2 restuarants with waiter service is slow, takes ages, the service is not as good as other cruise ships probably because the gratuties are not given at the end of the cruise and on this ship they are taken at 10 dollors a day per person from your on board account and 15% is added to all bar bills so there is no rush to please you!!! The other restuarants you pay for but the food is just the same, you may as well pay for a better cruise on Royal Carribean or P&O or Princess and the food is better on even thomsons and the entertainment much better and most certainly the service and photographers. One thing that I noticed was the ports of call the ship was docked away from the ports needing buses and not enough buses were available so you had a long wait and sometimes just one bus for 3000 people so long waits. The room service you got a chocolate on your pillow for the first 3 or 4 nights then it stopped??? it happened to everyone and sometimes we never got flannels or were short of a towel. The ship itself was lovely hawian style and the beds in the cabin were comfortable the entertainent was the same all the time and needs to be more professional with better acts such as the comedian its geered to the americans and boring, also a bit of vandalism on board our cruise the american kids smashing glass in the lifts ect and throwing things overboard, up all night in balcony cabins. People not impressed who were staying in balconys we had a outside cabin and it was good. I cannot fault the accomodation or the ship itself so that is a plus but freestyle is not for us, its a butlins ship if you don't like dressing up and like dressing down its for you. If you are elderly, disabled or have young children don't do this cruise you will never get on the buses in port and have a problem with carrying your food no trays and then looking for a table.
