Celebrity Cruises, Galaxy, Panama Canal
My husband and two friends joined the Galaxy in April 2006 as we were celebrating both our Ruby Weddings. We arrived at Houston to find there was a transport problem . One courtesy bus from the hotel which was totally inadequate. The rep suggested we could get taxis but pay for them ourselves!!! Joined the ship the next day. Cabins were fine dining facilities lovely although the food was not too great. The entertainment was awful. The pool party was like a hospital ward people lying on loungers however the staff appear to enjoy these silly games. The disco was a joke lucky if there were ten couples in it at the one time again the staff enjoyed. The dancers and singers did work very hard but again dated and jaded The waiters constantly asked if we would like another drink the record being 8 times in 5 minutes. vert in your face. We had paid our tips upfront and were shocked to discover 15%CHARGE on each drink. If you didn't ask for a particular brand the most expensive was given took us a while to suss that one out!!!Went to change money with the purser to discover that Scottish Currency was not accepted. Thought most Americans were proud of their Scottish Heritage.Atr this moment scottish Soldiers are fighting alongside American troops Shameful. We would never recommend this company to anyone We were lucky that the company was good and we did enjoy ourselves We have done several cruises and were so dissapointed as this was a Special Occasion I wrote to the c ompany on my return and never received any reply hence this review. Yours Sincerely Sylvia Thom
